Jessica Trussell graduated Baylor University in 2013 and obtained a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science. After graduation, Ms. Trussell graduated from Baylor School of Law in 2016 with a concertation in criminal law. She has been licensed to practice law since November 2016. Prior to joining Hazel Brown Law Firm, PLLC, she worked for a private practice focusing on family law and criminal defense. She worked on every aspect of family law and criminal law cases from start to finish.
Before obtaining her first legal job, she interned with the Travis County District Attorney’s Office and McLennan County District Attorney’s Office. At the Travis County District Attorney’s Office, Ms. Trussell worked closely with the County Court at Law 4 focusing on felony intimate partner crimes. At the McLennan District Attorney’s Office, Ms. Trussell worked closely with the Crimes Against Children Division. Additionally, Ms. Trussell interned with a local Waco defense attorney. Ms. Trussell has seen both sides of the criminal justice system and this has given her insight into how to defend for her criminal clients today.
Ms. Trussell’s passion for family law began at Baylor Law after assisting with National Adoption Day and working with the local family abuse center. With these collective experiences, Ms. Trussell has a firm grasp with how complicated and emotional family law cases can become and how to handle when her clients feel overwhelmed with the legal and personal issues that are involved in family law.
Ms. Trussell has worked in several counties since being licensed, including Comal, Guadalupe, Hays, Bexar and surrounding counties.
When Ms. Trussell is not working, she is spending time with her family, including her two children.
